So you might have realised wsswan has recently made a thread expressing disagreement with the Trinity. While, as you know, I don't favour bans and such for this kind of thing like other Christian groups might do; the fact it may depart significantly from standard christian beliefs and wsswan's large influence means we'll have to address it as admins.

You might wonder why I haven't already responded. Well, I'm writing up a response, but I have a policy of not having too many of my replies at the top of the forum because it disincentives other people posting, so I'll wait until some people post in other threads first. You might want to respond yourself though.

I thought I'd clarify some things on this and give some context behind it you won't know.

Firstly, as you know; I use the 3 main creeds as a way of finding out what people believe when I recruit them. I was glad when I heard you fully affirm them FeanorTheElf; but I don't demand all admins fully sign up to everything in them. That's part of why I asked about "major" divergences, and indeed I even have some minor divergences with the creeds myself.

One of them relevant to this situation is that the Athenasian creed says that the believing "catholic faith" (which is a strict definition of the Trinity) is neccessary for salvation. I don't think it is, although I do think certain aspects of the Trinity are.

So based on that, I don't know if wsswan's thoughts on this compromise his salvation because he hasn't yet clarified his points of divergence. (I'd imagine you might though, if you do fully sign up to the Athenasian creed).

Neverthless, what he's saying could still be very dangerous so it's worth confronting.

Now, I didn't previously suspect wsswan was non-Trinitarian, but some private correspondence for admin vetting questions (he which he didn't pass) and the quiz might be helpful context for this scenario. Perhaps it should have thrown up warning bells I didn't fully recognise at the time.
